First Projects

Well, I've finally been able to do some editing on the pictures of my cards. I haven't taken the time to create an appropriate backdrop for picture taking after I've created my card. I've been using my scrapbooking software to smudge out the background of my photos.

Here is my first card:

I saw a card just like this in the Spring 2011 issue of Paper Creations Magazine and just fell in love with it. The stamp is called 'Birthday Princess' and it's from the Pure Innocence line of stamps that can be purchased from the My Favorite Things website. MFT also has some awesome dies called Die-Namics, and I used the Ric-Rac border.

The magazine version had different papers, and had more sewing. I used the paper and cardstock that I had on hand. As far as the sewing, I attempted to use the Sew Easy line of products, but admittedly really didn't care for them. Maybe I was doing it incorrectly, but I was using so much pressure to poke through the paper that I ended up curling my project. I eventually purchased a small sewing machine, and am really tempted to try making this card again because that works so much better for me.

Well, my son is wanting to go do something so I'd better get going.
